Don’t cheat yourself.

Being too comfortable is only ever temporary satisfaction. Whether it’s in a relationship, with school, sports, work, anything. Letting yourself get comfortable is the equivalent of letting yourself go. Your life becomes a standstill. Everything you do becomes a routine. Nothing new and no one new. It’s an obvious problem and a warp that we see so many fall into, and the worst part is, everyone knows the consequences of getting too comfortable, yet they still choose to be. Why? Because it’s the easier way out. You know what to do, you know how to do it, and that’s that.

When I was younger, I hated meeting new people. Given that I went to five different elementary schools, I wasn’t given much of an option. I had to constantly start over my friendships every time I got comfortable. It sucked, royally. I realize now how much it’s helped me in the long run. I’m not the shy 9 year old I once was. I can meet anyone, with a confident smile and a handshake, and be genuinely interested in getting to know who they are and what they have to offer. I let myself grow by letting people into my life that open doors I never knew existed.

Tyrone and Kedre are the same. When I first met either of them, I knew I was going to keep them around. They were never stand off-ish, they were willing to get to know me as I was willing to get to know them and even though “opposites attract” so do likes.

When we meet new people, our instinct tells us to network. We will naturally gravitate to like minded individuals and we build our name. We have met so many amazing entrepreneurs taking the route we’ve been taking. We have gained business partners and friendships at the same time. You are cheating yourself if you limit your circle to who you already have. You owe it to yourself to keep growing because there will never be a good enough reason to stop.

As a team we talk about being too comfortable all the time and that’s when big moves happen. We realize that we have become the best at one thing and it’s about that time where we take on a newer and bigger challenge where we have to work our way back up. We itch for the grind and we want to make that clear. Uplifted Society Inc. is only getting started and look how far we’ve come together with all of you. Our team is stronger than ever and our society is more supportive as we really start to prove that we are going to be great. Let us be great!

Makes me think of Big Sean saying ”It took 10 years for me to be an overnight success.” We will never get too comfortable and we can promise you that. We are constantly on a move.

It’s up to you to Keep Up.
